The original drawings seemed to show a top floor that was taller than previous floors so I'd say the original height estimates are probably what the final build would be.

It will already be close to Saskatchewan's tallest and will be if one includes the antennae.

100m would be super cool. Just getting this thing built at twenty stories would be pretty cool.

82M min. sounds about right without the antenna/spire. Addition others discussed could push it to 90M, if it proceeds. All good news.

A backhoe is about 1/2 finished scraping the lot --- about 1 foot deep.

^ Well, 12" should cover all the accumulated prairie flora and fauna. It finally begins.

Are they hauling it away? Apparently the Bypass project has created a huge demand for fill. Maybe a new revenue source for the project!

The bigger the hole the more work it is to fill in later...

These are encouraging signs, but anyone who knows Regina history can still be justifiably a little sceptical, especially given this project's history as well.

So yes... As a city, we are speaking from experience.

Exactly. Some work is better than no work (in terms of being encouraging), but let's not forget the other hotel that started and then stalled with only some plywood and 2x4s for over a year on Albert and Parliament.

This is a good sign (the scraping), but it's nothing concrete.

Drove by last night and to be precise they were removing the asphalt cap on the back part of the property (former parking lot of the Plains).

I would bet the foundation will take the better part of a year to complete.

Well, to have a structure the size of Mosaic or Delta on that corner will be one hell of a change alright.

I also don't recall if they cleared all of the Plains foundation/underground structure. I think they just filled over some of it, so that could be slow going for a while.

Though if they did entirely excavate it, it will still be a long process. Will this be the deepest underground parkade in the city if completed? Their adjustment has been to 5 storeys at last plan I think.

Hopefully they're not just clearing the lot to let it grass over. Anyways, good to see some action on site.

I was thinking the same thing, that there is concrete below grade that is still in place - I have a vague recollection that the basement was just filled in with bricks and rubble and then some gravel spread over top.
