Personally I like it because of the different facade systems, even though it's subtle like you said. So many new high-rise buildings built in Chicago have very bland and monotone facade treatments, that it's kinda nice to see a change for once. There is a dialogue between both treatments, they are not working against each other and compliment each other nicely because the window sizes of both are the same size (or closely so).
