I think once you pass the 1,800ft mark.

Skyscrapers start to look really shitty and gimmicky.
It saddens me.

Alright, the day this monstrosity actually tops off at 3,200 feet and a few forumers post multiple photos of said event, I will happily eat my socks.

Considering that there has been an unbelievable level of residential highrise development in Miami and South Florida in the past decade, why not? South Florida is an international playground, much like Dubai in that way.

I find it amazing that I post threads on real highrises proposed or U/C in Miami and maybe get 10 responses yet a pie in the sky never going to be built crap proposal is worthy of 3 pages!

I was thinking that this thread has gotten quite a lot of responses for a Miami topic.

Obviously, the sheer ridiculousness of this project piques interest. And, really, most of the Miami highrises proposed or U/C are pretty blah (same old residential towers with balcony exteriors... they don't really inspire a whole lot of architectural grandeur). I like 'em, but most of them really aren't much different overall than those one would find anywhere else in Florida, or on the coast anywhere for that matter.

Ok... I don't care if it's not the most beautiful thing ever concieved... BUILD IT ANYWAY!

This is Hella awesome, because the world's tallest could be back in an American city for the first time since 1997.
