Not surprised on Carbone. The whole made to order and fast fired pizza thing is a fairly hot trend in food. It was just a matter of time until it hit Winnipeg. Carbone was first out the gate with it but they poorly executed the concept leaving the door open for others to grab the local mind share in that market.

So now that the "new place smell" has started to wear off does anyone know how Hargrave St Market is doing in the evenings when there is not an event at MTS Centre?

I went on Thursday night last week with a few friends to grab a drink and it seemed fine. Not bursting at the seams like on a game night but there was a healthy buzz of people there. It was a mix of people in suits and people in off-duty clothes.

I was actually kind of surprised to see how many to-go orders Gusto North was doing. In the two hours I was there multiple people picked up.

^Hopefully it's a new location and not a relocation of the store on Regent. Not that I go there super often. But do like to head there for wing night.

Hopefully that new Smitty's location doesn't have any "spider" problems.

That would seem like to far of a relocation anyway.

So any confirmation on what they are building at Garden City yet or just speculation. Probably get 3 different answers to this, lol.

You mean in the northwest corner of the garden city parking lot? That’s a Popeyes chicken.

Not really sure what was going on in this piece meal conversation. haha

But if you look at the link pegcity posted, it shows what the plan for the mall is. Including movie theatre.

Wienerpeg Hot Dog Shop is now open in the Forks Market in the former Skinner's space. All hot dog menu (plus fries and poutine). The hot dog choices are: Original, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Scandinavian, The Wienerpeg, Corndog. Prices from $4.95 for the Original up to $6.50. Also offering a flight of four mini hot dogs. Seems like an appropriate successor to Skinner's.

Nice to hear. Prices seem to be reasonable, which are a bit higher than those generic hot dog stores and franchises, i.e. New York Fries.

they were getting destroyed in Instagramm comments yesterday. many people upset they kicked out skinners for a "hipster hot dogs". they did have some supporters as they offer vegan (boiled carrot?) and gluten free options.

always amazing that the people who complain the most are usually armchair commentators who haven't been to the forks since the pan am games and scoff at paying for parking.

speaking of internet comment warriors, the other day, I unfortunately got caught reading comments about how no one should watch ctv news due to maralee caruso's "messy hair".
