Thanks for the photos. I've been watching this rise a little bit every few weeks when I go over the Fremont. It's really nice to see something going up in that space. I like seeing the work continue around the lower Pearl.

Holy crap, I haven't been able to get over there since back when they broke ground. I didn't realize they had this much of it completed so far.

I forgot about this one. Is it two buildings? If not, what's the smaller building that's going up next door?

I'm not seeing the aerial rendering.

EDIT: It's showing up for me now.

I see the rendering on my iPhone.

I like that smaller building a lot. Our waterfront really needs more front door restaurants to the river like that. Vancouver Washington did that really well with their new waterfront.

^Let's focus on the projects at hand and stop bringing up the Vancouver Waterfront (with the exception of the Vancouver thread). Thank you in advance for your efforts to keep the threads on track.

I know, but lets leave it focused on that.

I think the occupants of this building are going to feel pretty isolated from the Pearl. Without the bridge from the Fields Park it's not easy to get to the other side of NAITO.

Maybe it's different during the pandemic, but my walking loop crosses near here and Naito is usually pretty dead. Nice easy crossing at 9th if it is busy, although that could be out of the way. It would be nice if Better Naito continues its work northward as downtown is finished.

Perhaps. I just feel like all the urban energy, close in buildings, the park and storefronts, it all just dies because of the fence, double tracks and large street to cross in order to get to the other side. The initially proposed ped/bike bridge would have nicely tied The Fields park into Centennial Mills and the upcoming neighborhood abutting the Willamette.

I can see that perspective. A better crossing is due here regardless.

I really wish that crossing from Fields Park would have happened. Even if the renovation and reuse of the mill didn't happen, it would have still been a great addition to the area.

Eventually it will. One more building of this magnitude along that river stretch will probably make it a priority
