This will be quite a an awesome stretch of Capitol Mall when Wells Fargo, 500CM and 621CM are all
lit up at night. Now if we could just see into the future as to what will happen at the former Towers site

No more night shots, but here is one east bound on Cap Mall and a larger of the previous night shot.

Yeah the unbuilt side (or the south end) of the tower will be where the garage will be.

That explains it, thx. Makes sense that the garage would be built differently.

At least it looks, from the renderings, that the garage will be mostly covered with granite, and not some cheap pre-cast concrete shite.

The parking garage structure is also underneath half the upper tower of the office building. The phasing of the steel erection has to do with the location of the temporary boom crane in the basement and moving the boom crane towards the south as the steel erection at the front of the building progresses, and the boom crane will be removed once the luffing tower crane is brought in and erected next month since the tower crane will then be able to reach every corner of the job above the 8th floor.

The garage is built to the same structural standard as the office tower as is the foundation.

One of the planning commissioners actually did not like the fact that the garage would look the same as the office tower and wanted a different (i.e. cheaper) exterior treatment to the garage. Another planning commissioner did not like the fact that granite pavers are going to be used for the sidewalks surrounding the building instead of concrete since it would stand out to much. They were both overruled.

Those two planners should be fired. The last thing Sacramento needs is more cheap architecture.

They weren't planners, they were planning commissioners. But the sentiment is still correct.

You guys are obviously involved with building this tower... I went by your
office several months ago to inform you of this site and the receptionist
said that you were keeping an eye it

Do you have any rendering of the back side that is not on the ground looking
at the garage? The EIR showed that rendering that's above, do you have
any others that are looking at the tower from the back and a further distance?

I don't have a receptionist. A friend told me about this site.

So loading of automobiles is similar to what a typical office floor bears? I didn't know that.

The loading requirements are different but the structural capacity of the columns, etc., are pretty much the same throughout since the parking garage structure also carries half the weight of the upper tower.
