Yo armorand93! It's nice to have such fantasies. Though I don't play the lottery, sometimes I do daydream about what this city would look like if folks such as us SSP junkies somehow obtained more influence / capital.
Oh, and I still do creep around here often, but I haven't had much time to contribute anything lately. I recently purchased a house, I have a few articles I've committed to writing that are nearly due, and I also spent a couple weeks back home in the Rockies. It's been a crazy summer, but I do hope to become a more frequent, informed, and relevant contributor to this site. I think it's a fantastic resource; it's my happiest experience since I learned none of those twistable triplets in the traveling trapeze tour were pregnant.
So apparently, its the city that is delaying development of Heritage Landing

A local developer says foot-dragging by the City of Winnipeg could lead to the postponement of what was to be the first new downtown highrise residential project in the city in more than two decades.
Crystal Developers Ltd. has been trying for more than half a decade to build a new highrise apartment tower in downtown Winnipeg.
There's been some action on site since Wednesday morning:
-the entrance to the parking lot has been blocked by barricades and a tow away sign has been installed
-work crews from J & D Penner Paving are on site. It looks like they've dug a trench across Assiniboine (which is now paved over) and into the property. I wonder if they are moving that Hydro line.
Anyways good to see some work being done. Maybe the Freep story got things moving.

Paving doesn't mean parking lot does it?
