Someone mentioned this earlier, but Pho King is still a go:

Pho King is still going forward as planned. The only item in dispute with Retail was the signage in the window. They hope to open last this year or early next year (depending on the city of Atlanta permits of course...)
I guess their signs just weren't that nice

That is a terrific image, Street Advocate. Is it a photo or a rendering or combination of the two?

Either way I really like it.

This is a rendering of the "completed" project. They're still installing siding, windows, etc all floors of the development, but from what I saw last night, the project is about a floor or less from installing the top most amenity deck (top right tower in the rendering)

I think things like this have been the main complications with getting this deal closed. You have layers of ownership / easements / right-of-ways / air-rights by the city, state, MARTA, utilities, railroads, and many private owners. Even though everyone is onboard trying to get this to happen, getting all these ownership rights cleared up has been taking up time.

Its a rendering with a SimCity background-- virtually none of those buildings in the background 'skyline' actually exist in Atlanta--

Ah.

I really like that stone arched bridge in the left foreground. Wish we could have some of those in the city!

I agree. Had they even used the pattern/texture pictured in the link below (same bridge) across the entirety of it, it would make a huge aesthetic improvement.

OPUS PLACE has a website.

The proposed 74-story residential building in Midtown now has a website. The first phase of the development at 98 14th Street would feature the main tower comprised of 382 luxury residential units, 180 corporate suites, 60,370-square-feet of retail, and 825 structured parking spaces. A second, smaller tower in the future would contain a hotel.

Midtown is getting a continuous urban streetwall! Too bad it faces the connector.

If they ever cap that portion this will be a very nice urban face. Might be difficult with the grade along Williams though.

That pic is stunning. Half of that wasn't there when I left Atlanta.

I was just trying to count the number of buildings that have gone up in the last 15 years in that photo...more than 20. The Midtown skyline has truly transformed in a decade and a half.

Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by linking another forum, but scroll down to the user south park county's post on November 8th here:

https://www.urbanplanet.org/forums/t...ments/?page=43

He did some cool SketchUp renderings of Midtown under several future scenarios. Really cool stuff!

Awesome shares. Skyline looks awesome and it even looks like he missed 195 13th Street in his last two renderings. Really highlights that there's a lot of land yet to be developed in Midtown.

That difference between 1988 and now is stunning.
