I've always liked the High Street development. I think it's a very urban design incorporating a street grid that could easily be expanded to connect with preexisting roads. I also like how the parking is hidden and the intimacy of the development at street level. The use of different materials and colors on the facades are much appreciated also. This is the type of urbanism Perimeter should encourage more of.

I think I've seen this before but never made the connection with Hines. I assume this means the "T3" one on State isn't happening. About time some of those holes fill up--it's a mystery that Atlantic Station has completely missed out on this development cycle when so much is going on around it.

I like industrial looking architecture in places it makes sense. ATL makes sense.

High Street is really going to start next month or is that optimistic thinking? That is amazing news for the area if true.

It will be called The Home Depot Backyard and it will be used for game-day parking, events and entertainment. It's set to open in 2018.

Maybe someone can post the renderings.

All those north-facing condos at Windsor over Peachtree are going to "love" this. (I've noticed a flurry of north-facing units trying to sell over the past few years).

I'm willing to bet the GWCC will over-use this area for parking and tailgating events that on the off-days the "park" will always be blocked off just to let the grass recover.

I was wondering when that parking lot was finally going to get filled in!

This is an excellent, urban fill in project for that parcel!

I notice the DRC suggested that they consider using materials and design elements that would complement other buildings in the area and that the architects agreed to look into that.

Yeah that looks like the updated design...so we should probably see them go back to the DRC in the coming months with the new design.

Not a bad design at all. I wonder if those are LED screens on the front and side. That'd be kind of cool.

I do feel for those in Windsor north facing. They had to know it was coming one day, though.

The Windsor prices have no where to go but up IMO. All the development in South Midtown is only going to help them. Sure some may have no views, but the new apartments, hotel and office space nearby are way overdue and welcome.

Maybe not. Noble investment is the developer and based on the statement below, I think we can put this one in the "shelved" category.

Quote:
Ben told our audience of more than 100 CRE and hospitality pros that his firm has a slate of three hotel developments, “and then we're kind of done with new development as of now.”
Those projects include the dual-branded AC Hotel by Marriott/Moxy Hotel in Midtown; an Autograph Collection by Marriott hotel on the campus of North Carolina State University; and a dual-branded EVEN and Staybridge hotel in Seattle.
