I was curious to see what the most expensive building permits were and I found this one (under 455 N Park) and it's for $950 million. Is that true?? If so, it's the most expensive building permit for New Construction the city has had since 2006. Trump Tower was $290 million.

Who knows though...there is a permit for $9.99999 billion..

Hold up, is that the parcel directly between this building and the AMC River East? If that's the case, even though there was a proposal a few years ago for a rental tower at that spot, might you have stumbled upon a new, still secret proposal for something potentially very big?

This is what the description says:
"FULL BUILDING- FOR A PROPOSED 50 STORY RETAIL/RESIDENTIAL BUILDING-398 DWELLING UNTIS, 400 HOTEL ROOMS AND 230 PARKING SPACES; 455 NORTH PARK DRIVE"

Isn't 435 N Park the same number of hotel rooms and residential units and parking spaces? Maybe they are making the address 455 N Park from 435 N Park and had to file a new permit or something. The "owner" looks the same for 435 N Park. Interesting.

Also, the permit was filed/accepted on 3/28 for "new construction" which I'm pretty sure was after they started construction...perhaps they're making a second identical tower next door! LOL Just kidding. It's the only permit for a big building on this block.

Ha!
Thanks for the info, btw. I guess the address threw me off, based on the scope of work/size of the building compared to the Trump relative to the permit amount, which also seemed way off ($950 mil vs $290 mil for Trump). I just assumed that it was for a larger building, unless the Trump number you quoted was for a specific permit (like foundation work, etc. which would still be incredibly high) and not for the entire building. Oh well..

^ Might just be an extra zero. Wouldn't be the first time somebody fudged a city permit application...

Does anyone know if 435 N Park would have an impact in the Skyline?

^ It will definitely be visible heading inbound on the Kennedy. You'll see perhaps 150' of her, just to the left of the NBC tower's spire.

A little sad to see NBC Tower obstructed – it's a great building and one of the best examples of PoMo anywhere.

Biggest impact will be to views from the lake. Should be able to see its shoulders from Adler/Field as well

I can finally see the floor plate behind the Marriot from my office in the Aon Center. Now I have something new to watch since Optima is complete.

Pano - the "flying forms" are on both the far left and right. These are teflon (?) coated and form the bottom of the form for a floor.

One of the "flying forms" in use.

A second Concrete Pump ?

465 N Park - a few more shots.
