Do they use the same Conde Nast branded entrance on Vessey? Is the entrance from the West Street tunnel open to the building (I know the observatory is)?

All awnings except for the west one says One World Trade Center, and yes, the entrance to the building is open from West Concourse.

There is one solution for this, raise the level of the floor so the vents are underneath. They actually did this for the part of the Sears Tower Skydeck near the glass ledges, the floor was raised about 18 inches albeit for practical reasons, they needed space underneath for when they need to retract the ledges for maintenance. Anyways on the raised floor portion the vents are at floor level beneath your feet, they should really just raise the floor of the entire observatory and then the vents won't be a problem, as for now the non raised areas have railings next to the vents.

I went on June 1st. Would love to post pictures except I didn't take many. Why? Because of the damn fog. My first complaint is that they should let you reschedule in case it rains or becomes foggy. It wouldn't be a refund but you could pick a different day. I think that option should be open. If I knew it would have rained a month ago when I bought the tickets I would have not picked that day. So what happens if you are in the hospital and you miss your time and date? Tough shit? Greedy selfish bastards.

Anyway, it's a nice observation deck, they did a nice job. It could have definitely been better though. I'm sure they will make changes as time goes on. The experience on the B2 level was cool, you hear the construction workers talk about how they built the Tower and how proud they are. I'm proud of them too. The elevators were really cool and FAST. That See Forever Theater is a waste, and should show something better. I thought you could explore the 102nd floor but you could only walk around a small portion of that floor before reaching the escalators that take you down to 100 & 101. The City Pulse things were ok, nothing to brag about. The Sky Portal, same thing. The gift shop, expensive & not enough items, but I'm sure they will sell more in time.

The gift shops located on Liberty Street near Burger King has more items related to One WTC. I was hoping to find a book or a replica of the building that wasn't $150 & $200. I bought myself a magnet for $6 plus tax. I'm sorry but it doesn't beat the South Tower's observation deck, at least not yet. I'm sure the views are incredible and that's generally what people go there to see but since I had no view and the fog broke for 30 seconds before returning, I couldn't help but take notice of how everything was set up in the observation deck.

One thing about this observatory that looks incredible that not even the original did is the ability to look almost 'straight' down. In all the photos I have seen, from the 101st floor, one can look through the 100th floor and look almost straight down. Especially those views to the west. Looking down at the scope water from the Hudson and a lot more on the ground ahead from the 101st floor appears very intimidating.

In due time I bet that will happen. It appears there is so much they are still trying to get right. They probably wanted to get it open as quick as they could in the meantime to start generating $$$ and for that I don't blame them. It has after all been a long time coming.

The original allowed you to press your face against the glass and look straight down. I have clear memories of watching the taxis below like matchbox cars and the people like little ants.

They should probably update that video during the elevator ride now that Ingels design is happening.

Sorry if it came out wrong. I remember doing the same as well. Reminded me so much of the 'Willis' Observatory pre-skybox. I guess the 'belcony' feature of this observatory gives one a theater feel. One can stand way back from inside and get an even broader skope. This photo speaks volumes IMHO.

CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD RELOCATES ITS DOWNTOWN HEADQUARTERS TO ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER
Published Date : 6/11/2015

Cushman & Wakefield has moved its Lower Manhattan headquarters to One World Trade Center, the iconic tower at the forefront of Downtown’s emergence as one of America’s most dynamic urban centers.

The real estate services leader occupies 10,122 square feet of build-to-suit space on the 45th floor of the Western Hemisphere’s tallest building. The firm had previously occupied an office at 100 Wall Street.

“One of the world’s great real estate companies is now located in one of the world’s great buildings,” said Ron Lo Russo, president of Cushman & Wakefield’s New York Tri-State Region. “One World Trade Center stands at the center of the action Downtown. We are thrilled to call it our new home.”

“This world-renowned address is the perfect complement to our world-renowned brand,” said Cushman & Wakefield Executive Vice Chairman Tara Stacom. “The space is also ideal for us because its column-free design allows for a more open and collaborative work environment.”

“Like every tenant here, we also benefit from the One World Trade Center address itself,” said Ms. Stacom. “The address brings an added measure of marketing value, because the building’s name is universally known and respected.”

Cushman & Wakefield represents The Durst Organization in leasing One World Trade Center. On the ownership side, the team that closed this transaction included Ms. Stacom as well as Alan Stein, James Searl, and Justin Royce, along with Jodi Pulice of JRT Realty. Cushman & Wakefield represented itself on the tenant side.

Global publishing giant Condé Nast, the anchor tenant, situated its 1.2-million-square-foot headquarters between the 20th and 44th floors.

In addition to Condé Nast, the following firms have taken space and are operational in the building: Legends Hospitality, LLC; Incandescent Technologies, which provides information management consulting services to financial institutions; independent asset manager C12 Capital Management; global executive office space provider Servcorp; telecommunications consulting firm Symphony Communications; WTC retail developer Westfield America, global digital gaming company High 5 Games, and The Durst Organization’s downtown office.

Other tenants include: China Center New York LLC, a division of Vantone Industrial Co., Ltd; investment advisor Casablanca Capital; digital media company Tinypass, Inc.; Olam Americas, a division of Olam International a leading agri-business firm; xAd, a technology advertising firm; among several others.

Designed to achieve LEED CS Gold Certification, One World Trade Center is poised to become the most environmentally sustainable project of its size in the world.

Developed by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, One World Trade Center sets new standards of design, construction, and prestige, and heralds the revitalization of Lower Manhattan. Managed, operated and leased by The Durst Organization, One World Trade Center is the new icon of New York's skyline and the most recognized and desirable office address in the world.

Correct, and it's also the world's largest hotel. Its absurdly huge. For those who have been to Vegas, they know... they'll tell ya.

Hi All,

Which the best time if they are not too busy. We would like to go to NYC sometime in May 2016. Because the kids will be at schools. We would like to go to see new WTC. If they are not too many people who go up the top floors. Any suggestions?

They've been doing funky things with the spire lighting the past few nights. Monday the spire was dark but the beacon was on. Tuesday the spire was illuminated only to the midpoint (+ beacon).

They also keep it white like 99% of the time. I think I've only seen it a different color twice since they turned it on full time (When testing, they used to have it do patterns and rapidly change colors, which was interesting).
