Copenhagen March 2012 - Norrebro, Runde Tårn, Strøget

I was in Copenhagen 2 weeks ago and mainly visited Norrebro because I haven’t been there before (just briefly). We also visited Runde Tårn with the views of Copenhagen and part of Sweden and Stroget. It was almost spring in the air.

NøRREBRO
Nørrebro is a part of Copenhagen, just North of the city center from the small lakes, that might be associated with nice stores, riots, bohemic streets and charming, but worn buildings. It is a very multicultural area with many immigrants, especially from India, Turkey and Middle East. Totally 72 000 people live in Nørrebro.

Norrebrogade, the long main street of Nørrebro.

The picturesque North part of Nørrebrogade.

Red Square. I don't know what this place means, but the signs remind of communism, Soviet and China.

Assistens Cemetery, where many famous Danish people are buried.

On top of buildings you can read anti capitalistic words.

The central station.

The House of Industry, transformed façade!

Rådhuspladsen, with the Town Hall.

The famous polser, red hot dog stand, especially popular among Swedes!

LEGO Store.

Illum Bolighus (not to be confused with Illum).

A 250 000 DKR chandelier!

Thanks for the tour! Copenhagen is such an enviable city. Norrebro looks amazing, but I wish the Danes well in their multikulti endeavor. Norway and Sweden have not seem to had much luck/success with that experiment.

Wow! That is a great example of scandinavian understatement Nightsky!

"Probably the best beer in town".

There is a word for this again, what is it again?
