A veritable hive of activity. A hive, I say!

All joking aside - am I too far off when I think that they'd be working on the 3rd or 4th floor of the podium by now if there hadn't been a stoppage on this site?

Most of the work seems to be taking place in the parkade right now, but there is some work on the columns.

Yup. Just checked again and they're working on the 3 forms in the middle of the picture. Crane is working to drop rebar in.

At least there's activity. Slow progress, but it's progress.

Good timing, as I'd taken these this morning!

Bottom of the pic you can see the service connection work:

On the north side of the site, they're working on more of the supports:

Not sure what's going on along the north wall, but there was a guy yesterday doing some work.
Still not a lot of workers, but slow, visible progress.

Concrete going in this morning to the four forms in the picture above.

Also, they took the paper off the windows for the Mattola Market so that will be opening soon. You can already order from them online.

So I drove by today and one of the rectangular columns on the north east side of the building appeared to be very damaged. It was as if it was hit with a sledge hammer or something. Granted I noticed this while also trying to keep my eyes on the road.

Sorry, kids. I'm offsite until the 31st.
No update-ay on the pix-ay until then.

August 31 Update:

Looks like rebar for 6 support columns along the west side.

An existing column on the NE corner (near the road and in line with the crane) was taken down.

Yup. At this rate, they'll get all of the supports in place by the time winter sets in and then they can shut it down until next April/May.

I just wonder why someone wouldn't be in a big hurry to complete a new hotel project right about now.
