^^^ Regardless of the actual color of the material, the effect is cool. It's more interest to me that the metal seems to be reflecting and adapting the color of surrounding buildings.

I'm taking a new skyline shot today, and I think from the angle it'll be completely hidden by Ogilvie's tower.

Zoomed in, 110's tower cranes poking up in front of the Daley Center. Just about ready to pop up into the skyline.

^ man, that shot makes it hard to believe that the daley center was the tallest in the city back when it was built.

The formwork at WPE is also visible in that shot peaking out in front of 300 N. LaSalle

And that really puts things into perspective, Steely

Crazy idea but with curtain wall going up, is there an opportunity for the contractor to have the lobby done before the building is topped out?

This thing is flying. In not too long, it'll be half way up floor count wise.

Kind of a generic construction question for the pros. For a building this size, or larger, would they be able to build up the core way far ahead of the steel floors? For instance Gr333n's core was way ahead of pace but a much shorter building and smaller floor plan. I just think it would be awesome to see a 50 floor core and have the steel catch up to it. I figured theres some ratio of space between core and floors while u/c.

It is possible. I remember there is something with iron workers and climb time if anything is over 100' from the top of the core to the last floor with a hoist (or ground floor).

^^^ Is that the first setback floor? This rendering shows something different happens on the setback levels, but can't tell what. They do look taller then normal floors, the iron work seems to follow that.

^ that's an old rendering, before they got rid of one of the setbacks - but I imagine those elements are for the setback either way

^Looks to me like X-bracing connecting points. So have we reached a setback/mechanical level? Will be sweet if these can be clearly seen from below.

Or perhaps a skylobby/amenity floor of sorts?
