Alright--not really the thread for this, but since we're n the topic...

Has anyone seen any action at the 1220 Broadway shells? Read that the new promise was to really start construction this month.

More trucks have been present at the construction trailer. I'll check daily.... I drive right past after work.

Why just settle for SA and Austin? Let's make all of I-35 a CSA

That would be a Megalopolis.

What Will the Austin-San Antonio Corridor Look Like in 2030?

Two of Texas’ biggest cities -- Austin and San Antonio -- are on a population collision course.

A LawnStarter analysis of projections from the Texas Water Development Board shows the population of the Austin-San Antonio corridor, made up of 13 counties, will catapult from 4.27 million in 2014 to 5.71 million in 2030. That would be a jump of nearly 34 percent.

Depending on who one trusts with estimates...those numbers could be argued against (as being too low). In any case, I believe it will be many decades before the Austin-San Antonio corridor will qualify for CMSA status by the OMB.

I like option 3. It's as direct a route as before, plus it will allow all those people driving in heavy traffic on I-35 to see the train moving faster than their cars.

Option 4 is useless. Not even the cows will ride it.

I would prefer detours into the downtowns of New Braunfels and San Marcos, though, built parallel to the existing tracks in each city. An amazing additional benefit of this is not only helping to densify the area, but it will help drive ridership with additional stops at two current major potential ridership drivers (Schlitterbahn and Texas State University) but also two other future potential drivers via office space development and VMU residential in the downtowns of both cities. Trust me, that would be INCREDIBLY smart, because higher ridership is a strong normative consideration.
