Those color panels on the brown parking garage exterior as well as the long blue one that runs up the building in the Z like shape will light up at night.

The elevations show it at 187 feet 6 inches though. Was there an article quoting it at 200 feet or something?

I really like the design. Great location and even better, the density! San Antonio always does a good job at density. Either by retaining older buildings even if it means "mothballing" them, or getting rid of the ugos that can't be saved and replacing them with something better.

So how soon until this one breaks ground?

This is up for approval on October 15th. The HDRC has asked for approval. When it breaks ground, I don't know. Maybe Andre, who worked on this project, can resurface after a lengthy absence from posting/lurking and give us that information. Maybe even an update on the W hotel.

I just rounded the number up. I didn't think there'd be that big of difference between saying 200 feet instead of 187 feet. I hope that's not a problem.

Good for density, but I kinda like that really narrow store, even if it's vacant.

What?! During the forum meet The Nano was telling me about some poor bird that had gotten trapped in there and died.

I don't ever like to round up building heights. Although, ironically at Emporis, because the building is 187 feet 6 inches tall, it will be rounded up to the next foot. So it'll be listed at 188 feet.

It is interesting this this is one floor shorter than than the Embassy Suites, yet its a good 25 feet taller. Goes to show you can't always assume height based on floor count, I guess.

SA is getting all kinds of 187-foot hotels. Not a bad design. Too bad about the Maverick's windows though. Oh well, that happens all the time in New York.

In that case, I withdraw my statement to honor the memory of the unfortunate little birdie.

Not to worry Chicago....I am planning to take some of those old hags from the planning commission out drinking tonight. The plan is to get them hammered and maybe slip them a mickey. Payback for not looking outside the damm box, countless times!

i wish there were an available top-down rendering. how is the pool deck going to fit in? is it in that little cove that butts up to the maverick building? how will it get any sunlight? or maybe its indoors? i don't know. check out the south elevation and speculate with me.

On the agenda, page 296 shows the Outdoor open pool level on Level 6 with a glass guardrail overlooking the rear of "The Ticket" and the Hyatt side on College St.
So depending on the time of the year, the pool should get sunlight in the morning to early afternoon hours. The height of the Hyatt on the south side of the building shouldn't block too much sun during the peak summer months.
