I was driving down the Okopowa street the other day, when I noticed another construction site. I had only a few seconds to look at the rendering displayed, but it seemed like the building would be around 20 storeys tall. Does anyone have any info on it? DocentX: maybe you? You seem to know everything.

Great news :

Valid planning permission for Złota 44

As of 6 November 2006, Orco Property Group has obtained a valid planning permission for Złota 44 investment. Thereby the project construction is expected to start at the end of 2007's first quarter. The new luxury high rise of unique design by Daniel Libeskind will be located in the very heart of Warsaw. The project is estimated to be finished in 2009.

another news (unfortunately it's in Polish):

Platinium Towers

about the project :

Platinum Towers

The Platinum Towers project adjoins the Hilton hotel complex in the centrally
located Wola district of Warsaw. It sits in the heart of an area that has
undergone rapid expansion and redevelopment and affords easy access to both Warsaw's central business district and its more historical areas.

Originally planned to be a development of three high-rise residential towers,
the Group is currently working toward developing two residential towers.

Platinum Towers - Residential

Two residential towers will provide 24,000 m2 of living accommodation to be
split into approximately 380 apartments. The towers each spanning 22 floors,
will include ground floor commercial units and allow residents to benefit from
the facilities of the Hilton hotel complex.

Christian Kerez wins MoMa Warsaw competition

Christian Kerez, assistant professor at the ETH and Christian Kerez in Zürich, was awarded the first prize at the Architecture competition for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Poland. Libeskind, a juror at that competition on the scheme: "...it's a wonderful and avantgarde building and it fits nicely to the neighboorhood of the (stalinist) Culture and Science Palace..."...

The Museum at the Plac Defilad, which is undergoing a transformation to become an agora (...) is scheduled to open 2010. Christian Kerez previously has designed and built together with Morger Degelo from Basle, the Liechtenstein Museum of Art.

It needs a lot more refinement. Right now looks too brutally minimal. It does define street edges and spaces well, but so would any other similarly configured box.
