Don't forget 610 Lexington.

That's likely to be a supertall now that the developer can use the air rights from the Seagram Building and Lever House (per the Midtown rezoning). They could build something extremely tall on that site, because their allowable square feet just tripled.

Check out the 610 Lexington thread.

Thanks, that's some good news right there. The rezoning sure is a game changer for lots of upcoming projetcs, including 425 Park.

Seeking to use the rise of the supertalls in Manhattan as a reason to be against the midtown east rezoning, some testimony from the plan that was eventually approved today by city planning...

New York needs to remain competitive, on a national and more importantly, on a global scale. New office buildings need to be built, especially in Midtown East which is the city's prime location.

Well all our hopes and dreams of 217 W 57th street being a beautiful new tallest just died with Adrian Smith's creativity, so what do we have for possible a new tallest NYC icon in the works? 1 Vanderbilt? what else?

I fear there's not much left. 1V will most likely just break 1300ft/400m. A developer needs to propose a 2000 footer. After some time the tower will get a height cut (as always) and could end up 1700ft if we are lucky.

111W is so much better than this crap!!

Exactly two years ago I started this thread in order to show what's going on in New York City. And the boom is stronger than ever, so my guess this is thread will continue to thrive.

New York has become a forest of 1300 footers / 400m supertalls:

1. 217 West 57th Street: 1423ft/434m
2. 432 Park Avenue: 1398ft/426m
3. 1WTC: 1373ft/419m
4. 111 West 57th Street: 1350ft/411m
5. 2WTC: 1349ft/411m
6. Hudson Yards North Tower: 1337ft/408m

(--- ESB: 1472ft/449m, antenna)

It sure is quite impressive. Now all this city needs is a REAL signature tower, at least 1600ft/500m tall to the roof. And of course an iconic design.

Something like this:

Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Center: 1739ft/530m

or this:

Shenzhen Ping An Finance Center: 2165ft/660m

Nope. It's not a proposal yet.

Visions, rumors, never built / canceled projects etc. won't be added to the list.

That spire/crown looks powerful. Reminds me of BOA tower.

Totally. Although I don't believe this is the final version of the design (far from it). I'm more interested about the height, and it seems we can expect a solid 1300 footer here.

Nice renderings by Xoltage:

I wanna see more in Queens. A lot of projects that get lost in Midtown. Preferably along the rivers. That Hong Kong look where there's towers along all sides of the rivers/bay would look nice. I'm hoping that trend will continue; building both east river, and even the Jersey gold coast.
