Thank you for the photos. I really like the black and white building even though it would have been nice to have a taller building. 😀

I said it before but I can’t believe how slow Chard’s buildings are going up.

I saw this a couple days ago on YouTube, and thought WTF?! Clearly violating the drone no fly zone and at one point high enough right over downtown that he could have been directly in a flight path. From out of town, so I guess he didn’t know, but he was launching from the Legislature lawns so surprised someone didn’t notice.

^That no fly-zone isn't just for around the inner harbor either, it stretches for miles, it's crazy

The rules would seem to prohibit unauthorized flying pretty much anywhere in cities that have multiple airports:

Quote:
To keep yourself and others safe, fly your drone:

away from airports and heliports

5.6 kilometres (3 nautical miles) from airports
1.9 kilometres (1 nautical mile) from heliports

from https://www.tc.gc.ca/en/services/avi...y-legally.html
Quote:
Most cites and towns have aerodromes, heliports, airports, etc making almost the entire area an exclusion zone for anything worth flying.

from http://www.droneguru.net/canadian-drone-laws/
Quote:
You aren’t allowed to fly more than 90m above the ground. You also can’t fly within 30m of vehicles, vessels or people. The 30m rule only applies to drones between 250g and 1kg. If your drone is over 1kg then the distance is extended to 75m.

Love this goofy Jukebox building. Unconventional stuff fits Harris Green very well. Why did we ever have any doubt? The Mosaic on Fort is coming up on 60 years old.

But aastra! All modern residential buildings look exactly the same!

(Mosaic was originally built as an office building, but you get my point.)

Thanks for the photos. Phil, I forgot to answer you. I have a couple of cameras and an I phone 6. The camera on the phone doesn’t have a zoom so it is pretty much useless for taking pictures. I am not would have to figure out how to download photos from my camera to my laptop and host photos. I am thinking of getting a new camera with a good zoom. I will think about it. I am always seeing good places to take photos but just can’t do it yet. I also forget my Flickr password too. I will have to set up a new account.

I was wondering why you never answered so thanks for finally responding

I almost never use my Galaxy S7 for taking pictures either for the exact same reason but I got a hell of a deal on a Nikon Coolpix L320 a few years ago from Visions in Langford that has 26X zoom. I used photobucket for years for picture hosting but they recently shrunk the size of their free accounts so much I couldn't even add any new pictures anymore so on the suggestion of another forumer here started using Imgur and so far it's better than photobucket was. As my Nikon has built in memory I can take a few pictures and store them on the camera or use an external SD card (which I do) for taking a bunch of pictures. To transfer pictures from my phone to my laptop I just use the cord leading from the camera to my laptop, otherwise I transfer the pictures via SD card

I'm a fan of Jukebox. Really interesting building that I thought was going to be weird looking, but came out clean and modern.

Phil- I think I am going to buy a new camera. I also think I will try a new Flickr account. Good for you on getting a good deal on your camera. 26 x zoom is awesome. You should use your camera and get a close up photo of Victoria’s skyline from Mt.Tolmie. It has changed so much in the last 5 years.

I thought the jukebox would have looked so much better with a tower portion to it. Like in the middle of the building.

Apparently the jukebox was so named because there was a big dance hall at that location many decades ago but that predates anything I remember and since the only thing I remember ever being there was a fenced off "junkyard"-that's what they should have named it

Wikipedia site actually says that the Hudson one building is currently 22 stories and is the current tallest building in the city. They list the second tallest building as promontory at 21 stories. They don’t list the round house buildings.
