No other province can beat us in ugly legislature because we didn't join until 1949 and the current one didn't replace our former Parliament until the mid-1950s.
It was built on what was then the outskirts of the city...

And if you really want to realize how shit our Legislature is... it had an inspiration. Our rural, Protestant leadership was on a "unite the federation" kick when we joined. So they destroyed all our our old Parliamentary features, such as the mace, etc. And each Canadian province donated a few things to us, from desks, to maces, to the Speaker's chair, etc. And they also based the entire design of our hideous legislature on an actually gorgeous building from the other side the country, again, to bring us together... Vancouver City Hall.
So whoever the fuck made our legislature created it after looking at this:
