So, what happened? They never installed the pump or the makeshift elevator.

They're working on either the roof or the floor of the highest level of the cantilever section.

Looks like they are finally getting ready to install the concrete pump, as it can be seen laying down at the site.

Next time somebody is nearby, would you please take a photo from a block away so I can see it in context of the surrounding buildings? Thanks!

Decided to install pump after 9th floor pour. Not exactly sure why. The elevator is there (behind the crane from webcam view) but not functional yet.

Hoist visible here (not 100% if that’s for people and materials, but it’s a new install)

Does anyone know what's going on at the Canopy Hotel site? In the last week, there has been little to no work done, and there appears to be only a handful of workers on site.

They've been laying rebar. They're working. I've been watching the webcam. As I understand from talking to my mom, it's been raining relatively heavily, so that should understandably slow them down a bit.

Yep, some rain delays, but got slab poured last night.

You may notice that the sheer walls for stair and elevators have been going up a few floors at a time, which should save time on future pours.

How many more levels for the cantilever section? I see vertical rebar for columns for the next floor on the Riverwalk end of the slab, so there's at least one more level of the cantilever.

You can see height difference now compared to earlier shot from same angle.

The area that cantilevers over the Esquire is going all the way up to the top.

(Like button on the pictures, Txdev)

I meant the cantilever on the end of the building that sticks out over the Riverwalk. That concrete only goes up five floors (or six?). I should have made that clear... my bad.

This latest floor took a shocking 4 weeks to pour.

15+ months into contruction and we have 7 floors, no glass, no exterior floors complete.

I honestly don't know how the Floodgate will be done within their stated timeframe, given they will have far less space to work with when compared to the Canopy Hotel. Add one more month of time to this project and they will have lapsed the same timeframe it took for the Frost Tower to be topped out. Added to that, is the additional 1 year of contruction that am not including because of sporadic construction periods the Canopy project underwent in its first year of contruction (February 2017 - February 2018). With so many minor projects (which adds up to a lot) ongoing in and around downtown, slowed contruction presents a major problem. A reminder, the Alamo redevelopment project has yet to start construction, including, not far from its location, the Hemisfair redevelopment and the JMJ Tower (Villita Tower).

I don't know if any of you have been downtown lately, but it is a big mess. More than ever is the need to build for the future instead of the now. Build short structures that take 3 years to build, or build taller, more complex structures in similar timeframes.

I feel your pain on the slowness. Keep in mind that this is a much more difficult plot of land to build on than Frost. That was a big open lot. This is a tight lot next to a bridge, another building, the Riverwalk and buildings across narrow streets, plus a multi-directional cantilever. Other delays are what they are, but the physical constraints are certainly greater in this case.

I agree with planning for the future as opposed to reacting to the now.

I hear floodgate is getting a little closer, which is good. They don’t have any cantilevers which will be a huge advantage.

On timing, there is one crane to get everything up or down. You may have noticed in that picture showing the cantilever over Esquire that all of those huge red trusses (visible on an earlier pic) have been removed. That took a lot of crane time between the last pour and this pour.

Plumbing, mechanical, and steel stairwells are coming up in lower floors.

But onward and upward!

Remember all this stuff?
