Is Skyscraper not open for debate?

It seems some in the Regina Construction thread think so.

Damn right its open for debate. But with you its an agenda that you have againsts our current mayor that is so monotonous and depressing that its beyond ridiculous. Everyone in that thread knows about your hatred for the head of our city and all one has to do is go back and look at your posts since you joined and all you've done is turn a fun and exciting thread about construction our prospering city into a political pissing match. Trust me I am not the only one that feels this way and your repetitive bashing of our city and those in charge has made that thread into something that I don't want to be a part of. As a matter of fact, what you've turned that thread into has driven away some of its best participants.

That said, there are many political forums that you can join in order to push your agenda...........this is not one of them.

See what I mean.

The fact that a city council is referred to in a construction thread is not hard to fathom. I mean, they all have to be approved by council. Council passes the zoning laws, etc. The two are intricately connected.

Migs feels that any criticism of the city is negative. It appears, as he has not attempted to prove otherwise, that unless someone agrees with him, they should not post.

There is no debate allowed in the Regina Construction thread, none.

Were you born this clueless or was it something you had to learn??? Nobody minds criticism but with you its nothing but daily sermons on how evil our mayor and city council are and how nothing they do is right and how everything you believe is much better. You are correct that this is a forum about 'construction'.....but YOU have turned it into one about political issues (ie social services, healthcare, etc) that have NOTHING to do with construction. How freaking hard is that for you to comprehend????

Quimby, this was a pointless thread...you should keep your arguments where they belong.

This thread should be closed...

Now Migs resorts to lies to prove a point.

I have stated that many developments are good to see and I have voiced my displeasure when buildings are planned for destruction for parking lots and all these are approved or disapproved by council. When they do something right, I am right there saying it is smart. When they are doing something stupid like approving 90 lots for sale 1/2 mile from an airport, I say so.

As for talking about social services and healthcare, i have never ever brought these up as subjects in the thread and have only referenced them as better places to spend money then booster campaigns or tax breaks for hotels.

I like the Archdiocese development
I hate SW boxland plans
I like the idea around Campion
I hate the booster campaigns
I like some dedicated and planned promotions
I hate Wingate's tax exemption
I like the development of the hotel
I like seeing the new floors on the building on Vic
I hate seeing the Stephen's building taken off the heritage list

I have been consistent and balanced in my posts and it is council lack of this consistency that bothers me and I state it.

I strongly believe in the 3T's for urban prosperity, what do you believe ?

That's the equivalent of 50 major projects in downtown Winnipeg or over 100 in Calgary. It is nice to see but a long time coming. It is good to see this happening but unless their is a slowdown on new developments on the outskirts , it will be in vain.
