Express-News

The city's Planning and Community Development Department and San Antonio for Growth on the East Side (SAGE) are holding a community workshop to gather input for a proposed arts and entertainment district.

The workshop starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Heritage Room at St. Philip's College at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive.

A type of special zoning designation, an arts and entertainment district would provide protection for existing arts and entertainment venues and promote additional venues and other compatible uses, according to a news release from the city.

Areas near the Alamodome and the AT&T Center are being considered as potential sites for the district.
