I'm sure they'll work like any other SP's, and power locally, with any extra electricity being routed back into the grid.

You do realize that there are several areas around town with SP's, that are only integrated into the grid?

They don't necessarily have to power anything directly, but just generate electricity. It's storage of unused electricity that presents a problem.

No, I did not know power is sourced back into the grid actually. I assumed any power generated by panels on buildings was used to help power that respective building. Thank you for educating me on the subject.

One of CPS Energy’s goals was to maintain a downtown presence while helping spur further development and creating a space conducive to recruiting a new generation of employees. A preliminary sketch shows a glass-and-metal exterior and a multistory parking garage.

We’re bringing another 400 employees down to the downtown area, so just in that area you might see restaurants and gas stations and other service providers that might come in because there’s going to be a need,” said Paul Flaningan, senior director of corporate communications and marketing. “Even to that micro-level of development that we’re looking to spur down there … that whole area is probably set for some revitalization.”
Interesting take on downtown revitalization. Can't wait for more gas stations.

Yes, unused electricity from solar goes back into the grid. It essentially has to, as there is presently no efficient way to store it for future use.

And this also goes to final approval next week with the parking garage. It's going to be a busy agenda!

Wow very nice! I would have never imagined taking these two empty buildings and making them look so modern! There still hope for the AT&T building across the street!

I'm really impressed with this as well, what a transformation! It would be great to see some of the other less than pretty downtown buildings get similar treatments.

I realize this is getting ahead of things but I remember reading that CoSA has a significant budget for redoing the current Frost Tower. I wonder if that includes exterior modifications or if it is focused on the interior?

I was hoping for the same thing. If they could get rid of those black things on the windows and do something else i think it could look much more pleasing to the eye.

What a great transformation. I would really like to see the Crowne Plaza Hotel get the same treatment or at the very least an exterior cleaning.

It looks like they have started from the scaffolding that is up in the picture. Any official word yet?
