I actually don't like the Broadway as much as I used to during construction.
The crown piece on top is not noticeable since the mechanical room on top of the building over shadows it. In the rendering we don't see the mechanical room. If it was going to be that big, they should have just built another floor for it, and then put the crown piece on top of that. Another disapointment.

Well, its almost finished out. People should be moving in soon.
This is one of those cases for me in which I would have rather seen a 10-story take up more of the lot than have a 20 take up so little of it; but although it is a great location, I know that they are mostly selling the view.

Great to see it almost finished! I remember how long it took for this one to get out of the ground.

Is K-McC still planning to build the tower on the other side of 281?

Why didnt they put this on Houston or Travis Streets toward Santa Rosa. I count at least 3 or 4 parking lots and NEED be filled. In turn create another 8 or 9 parking garage and give it that ole San Ananto flair! Would have added some height on that end of d-town. Furthermore it would be very visable from multiple highway angles.

Because people don't want to buy in DT (yet,) but they will rent.

For the last time, these aren't meant to be downtown condos. Not even close. They are 78209 condos (its in the 09 zipcode). That's the way they're selling it in their billboards.

Um, hello! If they did that they wouldn't be able to call them The Broadway

Just messing with you, but really at this point its nice enough to have something go up inside 410. At least this has views of downtown.

Could call it the Santa Rosa Rise or The High Rise on Houston

Guess Broadway is best.

before/after

went to neighborhood meeting to hear plans for hildebrand widening. some of it sounds like a joke. for instance they plan to widen hild from broad with center turning up to river only and not all the way up to 281.?? they are still waiting to hear from UIW about property lines that need to be cut into along hild. the project is a no go if they don't allow. att has already donated its side. no landscaping was discussed as both sides now have lined trees and other decent streetside greenery. and its going to take 19 MONTHS! what a hell that's going to be for a year and a half. they are supposed to take out aerial utilities (ugly brown poles) at intersection out 300 feet. which amounts to 2-3 poles from intersection going out in all four directions. hope they don't pull that mulberry crap in which they bury all the lines and take out brown poles near brack and leave light poles only, then come back and put up brown poles again after the whole point was to get rid of them. not only that, but the brown poles are twice as tall as the old ones and look even worse than before. what a joke. the engineers didn't have any answers for me concerning that farse. anyway. i thought i'd do a rough photoshop rendering of what the intersection may look like after all is said and done. please excuse the finish as it was done rather quickly without touch up. wish they would get rid of that horrendous billboard at fargo bank.

I thought Hilde was fine the way it was, but I guess not. I think this will only add to the mess that is already there, what they should do with that money is fix up the Hilde/281 overpass.

the main reason for the project is to update area flooding control and major drainage revamp at the SA river over hild.
