Montreal (the Island, 2.0M people, patrolled by the SPVM) is still only at 12.

The suburbs (2.3M people) add an additional 15, for a total of 27 for the region (4.3M people)

There was a shooting up the street from my house the other day. I didn't hear anything. One person went to hospital.

Also, an appendage was found on the waterfront and no one knows whose it is.

6 homicides this year in Thunder Bay, none since April.

Yes, they are. I think homicides listed in this thread should only be reported for city proper. So that means for London it's 6 in a population of 385,000.

This. It's quite morbid how some people get all excited about how many homicides a city has.

Toronto should end with less than 70 this year which is good. Shootings are still on the rise though.

Think Calgary is at 15 so far, surprised it's not higher as violent crime seems to be on the rise here.

I dont remember posting positive emoticons.

We had a another murder the other day. This year started off really violent, it looked like Winnipeg was going to break its record, but thankfully things slowed down over the past few months. Still way too violent for a city this size. I have had my car broken into twice just the past year. There is more and more homeless people in the downtown area every year. Record number of discarded needles are being found on the streets. Just last night I went to the supermarket and there was a huge fist fight in the parking lot, a Native guy and an East Indian guy beat each other bloody.

One in Montreal on election day. Mafia hit in Pierrefonds which is in the western suburbs but part of the city proper.

Murder suicide in east end Montreal. Apparently a father killed his two kids and then hung himself.

^^That's messed up.

We are now at 33 homicides in Winnipeg. There was one early this morning and one last friday. Both happened near the same block in the Elmwood area.

And another murder by stabbing, looks like it's time to ban knives!
