Well in order to get it back ON topic....

This first building will have a garage, green tint windows, two metalic archs on top, and grey/white stone trim.... I hope that's ok with you.

Just keep in mind, these are all just sketch models, so it may not be 100% accurate. But you'll get the idea.

I'll post it tomorrow.

2 metallic arches? Is this the proposed McDonald's headquarters?

It did go way off topic. Design of the building sounds interesting. Can't wait to see the height of this building.

Do a Whataburger headquarters. I always thought Whataburger was the opposite of McDonalds.

1st building...

E. Travis/N. Main Tower
29 stories
552' ft.
Mixed Use

It's a mixed use tower that is mainly office, but the base has a few appartments, with a garage, and the grond level has space for retail.

Here it is from ground level...

Lookin' at it now, I think I made the garage too big...

The top is slanted (an obscure shape off the top of the original Alamo's shape) with two arches to make it more modern... because I wanted to have a balance of modernism with older architecture.

In another reference to the Alamo, there are barrel vault shapes designed in the building. BTW, I'm goin' to keep the Alamo references to this building, only. I know there are a few buildings in downtown that try to look like it. Hell, even the Spurs logo has that shape...

Elevation

Comparison height with the tallest...

I put grey/white stones to trim the building to represent the old, silver-grey metal and the way the arches are shaped to represent the modern/future, and the green glass curtains represent the river. And I'm not sayin the river is dirty or anything (I'm NOT Mark Cuban), rivers always seem greenish when you're looking at them.

So there's the first building. Keep in mind, it's just a sketch. But I wanted to make this building look presentable, while making it a signature tower and making a big impact on the skyline.

Good for that spot.
It's hard to really envision it there but I'm sure after a couple of years, it would grow into the skyline.

Needs more... beige :-P

But seriously though I loves it. I love the references to everything that makes our city great, and of course looking ahead. Great job.

I like it. Very different. Something I would really like to see built here. It's a little bit of San Antonio architecture with a modern twist.

BTW I like the little man in the second pic.

Great job. Looking forward to more.

Yeah, I'm sure. The base floors are individually higher than the ones that make up the rest of the building. Plus, I'm not counting the top floors (mechanical). So really, it's about 31 floors, but I only counted the 23 floors and the 6 "mega floors" at the bottom.

Augusta/Convent Residential Tower
31 stories
545' ft.
Residential

The top and spires

Looking up from street level

The balconies on the side of the building

Elevation

Comparison with the tallest in the city

I know, it's tan colored. But I made it a little lighter than most of the buildings in the city.
There is a reason for the circular shapes on the corners. Some where in New England, there's a building with circular corners and they're used for fire exits and mechanical reasons. I wanted to incorperate that into this building, since it's residential and Iwanted all of that to be out of the way.
Also, there's a slight art deco side to the design and most of the building is curvy for a more modern flair.

I like it. The balconies and roof especially are interesting. Not sure about those huge spires though.

It's been awhile, but here's the newest one. It would be the new tallest in San Antonio....

Adidas Tower
56 stories
782 ft.

Here's the crown with the famous Adidas logo....

The trademark three stripes are incorporated into the design....

Here it is from ground level

Elevation

Comparison to the current tallest....

And since this is my "new tallest" for the city, here's a pic with the tallest buildings of the other 5 largest cities in Texas....

The main reason why I did this design is because I love Adidas. It's my favorite shoe. And if they ever decide to build a new HQ, here's my design. And like I mentioned before, this includes the logo and the three stripes style you would see in all of the company's gear, but it's black and white with silver trim for the Spurs. Since Adidas makes uniforms for the NBA and since you have the Spurs, I thought it would just fit. This building would be located in that big lot on that Martin, Jefferson, Pecan, 3rd and Broadway block.... on the Jefferson side, mainly.
