Omni seems to be boosting their brand image by locating in attractive buildings. I like the renderings of the Dallas Convention Center Hotel and hope that the finished product looks as good as the Omni Fort Worth turned out.

This building does very little to help may downtown Dallas a more livable and attractive place. It looks like something plopped down in a parking lot out in the suburbs.

I have to disagree, it reminds me more of like a vegas hotel.

Vegas hotels are plopped down in a parking lot.No one would ever call the strip a great urban area.

From what I have counted, only a couple of more floors to go.

Unless mistaken, I beleive it has topped out. I don;t see any more rebar being put into place on the topmost floor.

Even seen as a Vegas style hotel, the orientation kinda seems weird. The opening of the V-shape of the Vegas-style hotel/casinos usually open up to the Strip, they greet the city. In this case, the V-shape is looking out onto the surrounding downtown highway ring, and its butt is facing the downtown. How odd!

It's a nice-looking building though. I read it's making quick progress but won't be ready for the Dallas Superbowl next year.

Correct. Hopefully the lighting is turned on by then though.
