Really cool find! Goes to show that making it symmetrical was the right move — combined with the gold and bronze material, the symmetry just screams 'Old World glamour'.

Interesting that this rendering shows the opposite of that early model and zoning diagram, with the higher side facing Park instead of Madison:

^ I always felt that particular model was turned the wrong way. If you look at photos of the other older model, it’s the opposite, with the higher setbacks facing Park Avenue like below…

I like the symmetrical setbacks but I understand the logic of staggering them. More floors have access to them.

The proportions on 1 Vandy were so much better at 1500'

When did it change from same floor set backs to offset setbacks on different floors? Been discussing this tower for 6 years and never noticed the change till this page.
