excellent points LSM. I totally agree from experience. 3 hours drive or less, and I'm driving.

I wish there was a way you could get to the airport without having to drive all the way

A LR light that went from downtown to the airport via San Pedro would be ideal. Maybe have a station at North Star and then a subway line from North Star Mall to the airport.

Elevated is easier to build, cheaper, and more suitable to the environment. Elevated stations provide a visible and generally attractive element to transit in the area.

It also highlights the speed at which rail can move.

Furthermore, I think an elevated line on 281 would be the more immediately successful and accepted alignment to the airport that hits more population than San Pedro. A San Pedro line could certainly meet at the Airport however

The early 90's airport master plan, which is still in effect, called for a rail station to be completed at wetmore and 410 with service to the terminals.

no. they have not started construction they are still I demolition phase.
