Portage and Main Proposals ideas

we Winnipeggers need to be proud of Portage and Main. we are the center of the heart of Canada. i have been doing a lot of research on Portage and Main Proposals from 2003 and 2007 also summer 2018. this thread is all about what
Portage and Main could be. you are allowed to put your own Proposals ideas to this thread. I will be uploading a 3D model of Portage and Main people can download to SketchUp and make Proposals for Portage and Main.

If you expect that the yay or nay banter won't spread to this thread too, I think you might be too optimistic about human nature.

My proposal - split the existing sidewalk space to make dedicated and protected bike lanes through the intersection.

Between the motorized vehicles and bike lanes will be an 8 foot wall from McDermot to William Stephenson Way and Fort to Westbrook. To help with pedestrian accessibility there areas will be fully enclosed and weather protected. To ensure in complies with accessibility standards with will be 5 ft wide. It will also feature a high tech "cyclist detection" monitoring system to automatically deploy pepper spray at any cyclists attempting to enter the weather protected side of the system.

Hopefully my description is sufficient for oaktom to put together a rendering.

To post the image it needs a suffix like .jpg or .png or whatever format the image is. Just make sure that it's at the end of the hyperlink and you should be good. Also make sure your [IMG][/IMG] brackets are correct

^ It should be noted that this site doesn't host images, you have to upload your pictures somewhere else (I use imgur, there are others). Then you post the picture using the [IMG] tags. Just click the icon above the quick reply box to do that easily.

Another real stupid article by Nigaan Sinclair it today’s Free Press this one equating Portage Place to a town square and he claims the mall shouldn’t be sold and should stay in public hands just because along with more convoluted irrational ideas about what govt. should and shouldn’t be doing!

^^^I have to say, that was one of the most ridiculous articles I have ever read. The mall is a private entity built to create profit not a drop in centre.
