i once lived in One Park Tower in Mississauga.. it is a rather beautiful building. These gatsby towers, if you can call them that are too stumpy. I don't mind the finish on them, but they do look like the top few floors of a tower that has sunk into quicksand.

Yeah, the developer wanted them to be taller, but they got NIMBY'd down to a lower height. It's a shame, they could have been quite a bit more beautiful if they were taller.

The building permit is for an 11-storey, 13,689.6 m² apartment building (with 3 levels of underground parking)

Nope it's the opposite. The original proposal was 4 stories on the phase facing Park Street. They then reversed and went for 11. Then they had the gall to threaten to cancel the project if they didn't get a Dev charges rebate which thankfully went nowhere.

This is an unfortunate project .....would've looked amazing on the skyline if it were taller ....the fact that there are 3 stubby squat buildings on this particle of land is uninspired and unimpressive .... Potential lost as usual to NIMBY folk who should prob live in Binbrook and not the downtown of a growing city

I hate it. It is essentially a modern 80s style condo with useless grass space that will never get used around it, and they're not even as tall as they would have been built in the 80s. Could have built the entire block as a single building and gone shorter even, with retail on the bottom floor. Instead we get this absolute disaster of a project.

To me the style doesn't jive with the area. This sort of deco/moderne-inspired design might fit better in the centre than it does in a residential area like this. And yes, it's stubby as Hell...

Agreed. I've never liked this development. Three chunky, squat towers amid the commie blocks. Yes, I realize that the NIMBYs held sway and cut the height of these towers. It should have been one or two tall ones, or at least some design variation.

Agreed! The area supports much more height - seeing thinner but taller would have been nice. I do praise the peaked roof though - something Hamilton needs more of.

I can't really decide if I don't like them or hate them.
