SAT is significantly larger than CRP. It's one of the fastest growing airports in the country and offers a good amount of direct flights, especially when you consider the proximity of DFW, DAL, and IAT.

HEB may not have started in Corpus but their headquarters used to be in Corpus before they moved to San Antonio

Ironically however DQ didn't start in Texas as most genuine Texans assume it did...try Chicago.

Does anyone else think this is a prime opportunity for the city to negotiate with Whataburger so that a downtown HQ is possible. Maybe sell them some city owned land for cheap?

They will probably build at Ridgewood Park, the same corporate office park Tesoro is buidling at. PurinaCare (new pet insurance company from Purina) recently opened their hq in Stone Oak.

Church's Chicken also started in SA.

Do they really need to build a headquarters? There has got to be a some contiguous Class A or B space perfect for 250 folks already existing.

But I agree, steal from Dallas, Austin or Houston whenever possible.

While it is kinda nice that they're moving to a much more central location, it's kinda sad because they started in Corpus, their flagship store is in Corpus, and also I lived in Corpus for about 5 years so I sort of grew up with Whataburger.

And now the ketchup packets will say San Antonio instead of Corpus. Better stock up.

If I had a choice, I'd go to Whataburger before Luby's.

HEB is tacking on the places I frequent. HEB, Jim's and now Whataburger. Any others? I have AT&T for my internet and phone, but we'll not talk about that.

YES! And it must have a Whataburger "lounge" open to the public on the 90th floor with of course a Whataburger restaurant up there. What-a-view! Seriously, the city should totally court them.

It'd be cool to see New Braunfels or one of the northeast suburbs like Schertz attract a large company. It only makes sense considering a company located along I-35 could potentially have the workforce of two large metros to pull from.
