The old Las Vegas High School is probably the best surviving example of Art Deco in Las Vegas.

I was really surprised by the amount of deco in LA the first time I went. Very nice examples, and it's definatly my favorite style of architecture.

A few years later, in 1936, the same architect designed the Will Rogers Memorial Center which featured a coliseum, an auditorium, and an ornamental tower. The coliseum was the first arched steel truss domed building built in the U.S. This building is the forerunner to our domed arenas and stadiums.

this is really LA's chance to shine. Los Angeles was THE place to be in the 30s, so saw a lot more construction during that time than many other cities.

Really appreciate the Detroit pics too, especially the Guardian and Fisher buildings.
