3 week paid vacation fantasy challenge - where would you choose to go?

It's rainy here in LA for the 4th day in a row, and I have basically been house-bound this whole time avoiding being outside or interacting with people. I've been reflecting on how much we take the freedom to travel and enjoy life for granted. As I sit here worrying about finances, job security, illness and the future, I find myself dreaming of being on holiday somewhere, on an adventure with no worries. I'd love to hear from you guys....

Let's say the Coronavirus scare was obliterated tomorrow, and suddenly you were guaranteed time off for a 3 week paid vacation and you had enough money saved up for it so that your bills weren't a worry. What cities/countries would you go to, what would the itinerary be?

Show pics (and link of course!)!

A personal goal of mine is to double my age in countries visited. I'm currently 29 years old so that would be 58 countries. I'm pretty far behind but catching up quickly. So my three week vacation would be designed to hit as many countries as possible while still getting a true enough taste of each (so a few days in each at minimum). In 2019 I did quite a bit:

So for this 3-week fantasy vacation I'll go with:

1 week split between Zurich and Prague
1 week split between Athens and Istanbul
1 week split between Amman and Tel Aviv (planning this one in November 2020)

I was in an almost identical position four years ago. My company had a "shutdown week", I was paid enough that I could travel wherever I wanted (I'm now unemployed), and I basically had no other personal responsibilities to tend to.

I went to Tokyo, which was cool, but I think that I would have rather gone to somewhere a little more easy to relate to, like France or something.

Anyhow, just wanted to share that I had a similar experience.

The issue with "right now" is that it's March, so my main planned trip(s) would be imperfect.

However, I do have an "ultimate" trip that I guess I have been putting off, so that would be the East Coast of Australia. I would start in Brisbane, check out Gold Coast, spend time in Sydney, then spend the most time in Melbourne. Melbourne is my true bucket-list city but it's building so much I figure it's still prudent to wait a little longer.

My other trips if we could control the months too would be 1. Edmonton to Jasper to Banff to Calgary and 2. Vancouver to Seattle to Portland to San Francisco. I'm sure there would be plenty of national parks on the way of that west coast leg, but the Canadian one specifically loops away from the cities to see the mountains.

I think my top picks would be 1) Tanzania with time split between Zanzibar and a safari, 2) Australia, or 3) the Philippines with a several day stopover in Hong Kong.

^^Humbolt is other worldly beautiful. Great place to wait out the apocalypse.
Corona prob loves the cold, wet, generally gross climate, tho.

As for me, lately I've been really interested in the Russian Far East. Would love to see the Kamchatka Peninsula, look for Siberian tigers, ect.

Otherwise, I'd be happy self isolating in the Pananal wetlands of Brazil. Lots of beauty and relatively unknown to the non Brazilian. Just watch out for the swarms of giant Jaguar, there are more per square mile there than anywhere else, and they are up to 50% larger than any other jaguars in the world.

I'm fortunate to have traveled more or less everywhere of interest.

My most memorable adventure was a three month driving trip around South Africa. You could easily condense it to three weeks:
-one week in the Cape Town area visiting beaches, restaurants and wine country
-one week on the Garden Route with a stop at Knysna or Plettenberg Bay
=one week near, but not in Durban at the beaches along the Dolphin Coast and wildlife viewing at Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park

The exchange rate is extremely favourable.

Another great three week trip that I've done, for the more adventure minded:
-one week skiing in Utah at the Cottonwood Canyons resorts. The Greatest Snow on East. Stay in SLC to save money
-few days in Zion National Park, including the Angel's Landing hike. It would be too cold to do the Narrows
-few days in Vegas
-depending on your tastes, a few days at the Grand Canyon, Moab or San Diego

In 2001 I did a similar itenary in March/April :
-14 consecutive ski days around SLC over which it. snowed something like 12 feet
-week around Zion Park hiking and enjoyingate Spring temps around the pool
-week in San Diego doing touristy things like the zoo and PB
-3 day drive to. Cabo enjoying the scenery
-week at the beach in Cabo
-quick 2 day drive to Moab for a week of mountain biking and hiking Arches and Canyonlands
-week rafting the Grand Canyon
-few days recovering in Vegas

I would fly to Argentina and board a scientific vessel to Antarctica. It is my last major city/country/continent on my bucket list to visit.
