IMO, using no textures is only good
if you detail
everything about the buildings, windows, doors, rooftops, everything. Then you must use close-up material textures so the buildings have color and what the word "texture" literally means. I hate to sound arrogant, but Sabal Island, my city, is an example of what I mean.
I have noticed a lot of new cities latley claiming to use no textures, which is true, yet they have no color or windows. What's the deal?
No textures is awesome, but no textures + no detail = dull. Just thought I'd mention that since if was kinda brought up in this dead thread ressurected from the grave.
