hmm. i don't see this thread.. Just don't use textures gees. Thats what i'm doing and more people started doing.

Awile ago this was the fad,it didnt last long,most of the cities went under,or started using textures.

I've started doing it. I've done it since I got Sketch up. It just gives me more freedom on my designs and You can tell how many floors a buildings has.

IMO, using no textures is only good if you detail everything about the buildings, windows, doors, rooftops, everything. Then you must use close-up material textures so the buildings have color and what the word "texture" literally means. I hate to sound arrogant, but Sabal Island, my city, is an example of what I mean.

I have noticed a lot of new cities latley claiming to use no textures, which is true, yet they have no color or windows. What's the deal?

No textures is awesome, but no textures + no detail = dull. Just thought I'd mention that since if was kinda brought up in this dead thread ressurected from the grave.

Eh, i think they look ok , but you must appreciate the time and effort that goes into producing a fully textured/landscaped and detailed city without making it look crap
