"Skyline Tower" in Queens,
& even the whole LIC Queens skyline,
it's quite, shall we say, milque toast . .
especially once they get the all too nondescript, glassy skin on . .
Yes, the glass could be much more vulgar, for sure . .
Still, 762 ft.in Queens, isn't bad . .
"tallest in NYC, outside Manhattan" . . that's cool . .
Well, Jersey City is really the 6th borough though . .
with taller ones . .
But being tallest anywhere, even for a short time,
should call for the thing to stand out in other respects,
beyond height . . a tallest, should provide folks with some
celebratory architectural indicators . . a bit of visual distinction to savor . .
Its sheer sides, rising straight up,
in a somewhat slender-ish tower proportion, is rather nice . .
But from what I see so far,
Skyline Tower doesn't do its borough much credit . .
I guess, tallest (in-my-book) CPT, doesn't offer
preeminent design to Manhattan either . .
Views from this Queen's tower however,
provide excellent skyline panorama across the East River,
with shapely One Vanderbilt spectacularly
setting a fine example of design excellence . .
