Nice adds TRiToNDREyJA. I really like the Portage Ave. Render looking towards main St.

^ Great job. Those views will look amazing once parcel 4 is built out.

As beautiful as those skyline shots over The Forks looking into downtown typically are, they are marred somewhat by the large voids and parking lots along the CN line. To replace those eyesores with nice looking midrise buildings will really change Winnipeg's skyline for the better.

^ yes exactly. theres still a gap between the parcel four lots and the rest of downtown (mainly P&M)
needs some balanced midrises like you said. but they need to be well designed if theyre gonna be right in that area.

more shots:

view from one of the balconies at D-Condo

view over one of the downtown bridges

Looks great. A few of these shots could also include the UofW's proposed 14-storey residential building behind the Buhler Centre

CanadInns really needs to do something about the Radisson. Hell, just paint it lime green or something. The entrance from under the parkade ramp is so uninviting.

It would be better if the city didn't let CanadInns park cars on the sidewalk there.

it was a perfect view of the cityscape too

Too bad Skycity is a scam. Our skyline actually kind of makes sense with it in there. The parcel 4 buildings round things out nicely too.

Anyway, does anyone else get a laugh looking at the lumpy google maps buildings?

Damn right about skycity!
We actually have a "real" skyline when its there. I'm just hoping for a miracle at this point.

The projects are balancing the city so it looks equally empty everywhere(still need density), but the builings in the renderings make.the areas that looked.super empty compared to the rest blend better.

The Google maps lumpy buildings irritate me sometimes but its what I can do lol. Gives it an apocalyptic look.

Has parcel 4 been approved? I once heard they were thinking of building a foot bridge from parcel 4 over the train tracks ending around portage and main. I'm excited for the parcel 4 build!

While I am here, was it just talk about 2 new high rises at portage and main? One beside Whiskey Dix and one across from the Richardson Building??

Its promising when we get to see this city grow

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm not sure If I should be posting this.

It's difficult to discuss now. The Sky City thread has been removed.

They probably didn't like all the junk bond discussion! Really though, it's too bad they had to take down the thread. I'm going to make an assumption that one of their potential clients seen the forum and brought it up to them. Or bmyers notified them of all the truthers out there bringing up their deep, dark secrets.

Yes, lol..Junk Bonds...
The reasoning behind the threads removal is very clear to me BJ.
Do I think it should have been removed? No. Should it have been locked?..As a last resort, Yes.
It could have been dealt with in other ways.

I would still like a clarification on where the topic stands and where we may discuss it if a poster so chooses to do so in the future.

Don't be seen discussing this topic with me... I do care.

I personally believe skycity is really likely to be a no go at this point. Either that or get put on hold for an eternity, but that's all I will say.
