The Canadian Tire store here in Charlottetown is one of the busiest and they need the room. The 32,000 expansion will help this.

The widening is part of the active trail system they are building around the city.

New build on Thompson Drive

I'm not sure who the developer is and who is moving in here. I did here that
Combat Computers is expanding so I'm not sure whether this is their expansion or not. Maybe one of you may know.

Ironwood Apartment

The Kensington Rd Ironwood Apartment, the completed one, has filled quickly. The other two will probably fill fast once
completed too. If they fill so quickly, why wouldn't they make them higher to get more living there? The four-storey thingy
isn't going to accommodate all those wanting to live here.
Something has to change.

Queensway Apartments
(Sorry for the image quality)

Drove by this morning, I see catch basins have been installed in a row that would indicate some sort of a laneway, rather than an open parking lot. Crews are also digging out quite a bit of dirt in the area where this apartment was going to go, few big dump tucks on standby.

Very curious what's going on here.

From what I can tell it's just a new parking lot!! Loads of gravel being delivered. Another new parking lot for what?! Nobody parks there and it ends up being a spot for piling loads of snow and then garbage after it melts. Maybe not! I could be wrong!

So far that's what is going on here. There is a steady parade of gravel trucks delivering a huge amount of gravel!! What a waste of money.......and space!!

If only Charlottetown would wake-up!! Too many NIMBY's in the 500 lot of our city. I hope it's a go or at least some of it!!

You’re right! It’s a parking lot for sure, and looks to be built to very high standards. That’s an insane waste of money. Space for housing/customers for the plaza, or a parking lot that no one will use…

Wow to that Stratford proposal!

Big ambitions for that town (or, if this pans out, that city).

Yes, I'm predicting it now - Stratford will become PEI's third city within the next 25 years.

Well here it is folks, the biggest example of wasted money in the history of this city!! A parking lot, that is never used and never will be, except for plowing snow into piles from the Superstore lot, and then when spring comes, and the snow melts, it is the largest garbage pile around.
Instead of coming to an agreement with APM on the land deal so APM could build Queensway apartments, that would bring more people to the area and give a place for people to live, they decided to build a nothing parking lot!
The thing about Queensway, there was only one person who filed a negative letter against it. Many thought it was a great place for a development like this. I hope no tax money went into this parking lot!!
Enjoy your new empty parking lot!!

It would have made more sense to just return it to green space with a side lot along their building and an access lane. Insanity.

An article in the Moncton T&T indicates that the franchisee for Mezza Lebanese Kitchen (Moncton and PEI), plans to open two locations in the Island capital within the next year (Charlottetown and Stratford)

There is a new I think it is an apartment on the corner of Young street. They built a micro unit apartment there two years ago but now in the same area is another foundation going in.

Maybe they’re building a ramp onto the highway?

You're probably right , and I did think that as that corner is hard to turn right at. The other corner diagonally across from it has a right turn ramp. If they are doing that, hopefully they'll start that soon.
