San Antonio in 1980

Found this really neat picture of San Antonio in 1980 and then again in 2005.

Wow, that is insane! I am old enough to remember the mid-late 80's when 1604 was still a 2-lane highway across the northern arch of San antonio (as is depicted in the '85 aerial). Hard to believe now!

I kinda remember 1604 being under construction in the late 80's. My dad had to go all the way out to rolling oaks mall to get a purse my mom wanted at Dillard's and the one at Windsor was out of them. By the time we got there I though we had driven all the way to Austin!
