I do like what they are doing with the windows on this place. I wish more houses went with large windows like this.
I like them too but I'd imagine there's a privacy issue if the road is popular.
There's one new house on Crescent Road that's been extensively photographed. It's basically a wall of windows that lgive a great view of downtown. But with a family living in it, I would think all the ground level windows would need to be obscured by blinds or drapes as otherwise you can see right through the house.
Highwood (on the north side of Queens Park Cemetery) is now starting to see quite a bit of new construction, R2C zoned bungalows getting bulldozed and replaced by infills, duplexes, large mansions or even new bungalows on a double lot. Land prices in Highwood are cheaper than Capitol Hill, Mount Pleasant and Tuxedo/Balmoral and as such, there's starting to be a lot of interest in Highwood.
Direct bus routes to the UofC, MRU, Foothills Hospital plus all three levels of public schooling within 1.5km, new outdoor rink, soon to be completely renovated outdoor pool are attractive to a lot of young families. Great access to the airport plus direct bus to downtown are pluses as well.
Last picture includes a laneway home as well...

Great post Speedog, thanks for changing it up here and posting some construction updates!
With my current job, I am out and about in many parts of the city and surrounding areas on a daily basis - this past week saw me in the Beltline, Legacy, Seton, Sage Hill, Redstone, Saddleridge, Chestermere, Cochrane, Langdon. Seton, in particular, has a lot of multi-family going up - I'll take more potato pictures and post them, my Canon DLSR I can't be bothered to lug around.
