Talking SAN DIEGO | Pinnacle on The Park (2 Towers) | 479 FT - 45 FLOORS

Pinnacle Development will begin building two condominium towers of 31- and 39-stories above a 4-6 story base. The site is bounded by Island Avenue and 14th, 15th, and J Streets. Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2007 (sometime this month according to SD Metro) and be completed in mid-2009.

Actually the sales office and cafe (located in the same building) are nearing completion. I think excavation is imminent.

Drove by the site yesterday and took a pic of the new Pinnacle Bayside sales office(?) now under construction. Once the towers are complete, I believe this building will be a part of the future East Village Park (1.3 acres), which is currently being fine-tuned.

What shocked me was the location of this huge project. It's in the worst part of EV, way east of the trolley tracks and ballpark. Nothing but homeless people milling around.

Talk about a pioneering project, Pinnacle must have a vision of this area that's hard for me to see. I'm happy and shocked at the same time, that this project is actually going to happen.

I didn't notice any foundation work going on at this time. Although there was alot of heavy equipment on the site. I'll keep you posted.

Here are renderings of the future East Village Green, which will take up half of the entire Pinnacle Develpment block. You can see where the structure I took a pic of earlier will be, in relation to the park and towers.

If they can keep the homeless from camping out here, this will be another great addition to downtown's expanding list of green spaces.
