I should also say (if it's not already been mentioned) that Pizza Delight is opening a spot at MUN in the University Centre, which was previously occupied by Extreme Pita/Just Fries.

I recall a Pizza Delight at the Sir Wilfred Grenfell campus equivalent back in 2008-2009. It was lined up every day and did quite well just selling slices and lunch combo's. Given their low prices, I can see PD killing it anywhere with an abundance of young(ish) people.

I posted here a couple weeks back that Avalon Mall were proposing a fast-food restaurant near the new Kenmount intersection. I wonder if Pizza Delight is what they're referring to. Not sure if you'd classify Pizza Delight as fast food though.

The IHOP in Moncton is still under construction, but should open in the next six weeks or so.

The Atlantic Canadian franchisee is CoreyCraig, a Moncton company which made their money on Tim Hortons (they own all 36 Timmies in greater Moncton), but also have Wendy's franchises in southeastern NB and have branched out into real estate recently. They are also building a Hyatt Place Hotel next to our new downtown arena (the Avenir Centre).

They plan on five IHOPs in Atlantic Canada, the first being built out by Casino NB here in Moncton. They said they might build a second one in the city in Dieppe. Charlottetown is also definitely in the mix. That's three right there, but I am not certain where the other two will go - presumably Halifax, and maybe St. John's.

I heard they're closed while the renos are on the go for PD. They're expected to open up again in the new year. That's what I was told by a staff member.

Take it for whats it worth, but the same owners of Extreme Pita said that they (Pita) were only closed for renovations, and look at where they are now.

Just Fries, unlike Extreme Pita, was a money maker, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did return. They could make even more money if the wait for fries wasn't so damn long.

Hearing J Korean downtown has closed and a new restaurant will be going in its place (Filipino I believe). Also the Mustang Sallys downtown closed but the one in the UC is apparently still open.

Paradise Burger King

Building is currently being constructed at former ACAN site in which Shoppers Drug Mart recently opened.

Not sure if this fits here. But Cineplex has applied with the city to serve liquor.

Maybe something like this. https://www.cineplex.com/Theatres/VIP

The one in the UC always has the longest line up when I go there - I'd say they're safe from closing, unlike the downtown location.

The Rock Steakhouse Bar & Grill (and Robins donuts) at Navigator Ave is progressing. The concrete foundation and footings were all laid on time before the ground froze and the framing is going up now. From what I hear, it should be up and running in the summer of 2020.

As I mentioned in the Galway thread, there appears to be a Starbucks development in CBS-Manuels area close to where the Tim Horton's is located.

If CBS were to get one that'd be 10(including the new Galway location) in the metro.

Starbucks has had this weird delayed-like reaction in growing here. Felt like only one or two around for almost a decade and soon there could be almost as many Starbucks as McDonald's in the metro..

Yes, Starbucks has really grown here over the past 5-6 years. For the longest time the only location was inside Chapters. A few years later I believe Starbucks opened further up Kenmount Rd. That was it for years and all of a sudden there's Starbucks locations popping up all over the place.

Is the Galway location opened yet?

Looks like Nautical Nellies is now officially "Broderick's Pub", owned by D'Arcy.

https://www.facebook.com/broderickspub/about/

Exterior is definitely an improvement.. I believe the interior was revamped 1-2 years ago. Hopefully (somehow, given the state of downtown) it does well.

Not surprised, the building and business itself were up for sale earlier in the year. I think financially they were doing fine but the owners wanted out.

Anyone else noticed Quiznos is closed on Kenmount rd. Not sure how long ago this happened. Little sad none are left in the city now.
