Construction Timeline:

Here's the only info so far regarding this proposal:


Le Meridien Hotel and Resi - Randal EHM is seeking investors to a fund this ~42 story project in downtown Austin.
The 280 room luxury hotel w/ 170 condo units and Austin's only public observation deck and rooftop restaurant and lounge.
Located across Red River St from the Austin Convention center, the structure will be located by Waller Creek and the 6th street district.

Awful design

Would expect this to "grace" the skyline of a third-tier city in China. What a mess. It is dark and unbalanced, and probably would be even worse if actually built.

Yeah, we're thinking this may not even be a serious project. More like a design firm looking for a job. I don't doubt the block is planned for something, and there are rumors there may be a Le Meridien Hotel announced later this year or next since a developer stated they had three more hotels in development for Austin. The only thing I like about this project is they said it would have a public observation deck. Other than that, I hope they go back to the drawing board and start over.
