Philly!

Philadelphia with the Cira Center on the right, and the Comcast Center (CC) to the left. Unfortunately the crown atop Comcast is still working out the kinks it seems, and I prefer Mellon Bank's pyramid to be lit in gold rather than white, but whatever. Not the BEST skyline in the world, but it's still pretty I think :-). Photo taken from the Mann Music Center in Fairmount Park. P.S. The American Commerce Cetner from this angle would perfectly fill the gap between CC and Mellon at 1500 feet (or half of the Comcast Center on top of itself).

ATL is indeed impressive, but has some troublesome gaps, Fill in is needed, plus the cities tallests dont really stand out from the others to give the skyline a signature. IMO, they are two spread out. A good example would be, if Nashville built the Signature Tower. ATL's Skyline is much larger, but with SIG Tower, BNA blows ATL away.

I disagree, I think the spread out makes the skyline look large & impressive:

Midtown:

Downtown:

And Buckhead / Atlantic Station (both building up now) have their very own skylines.

Buckhead:

I agree ATL needs more density to crack the top 10. Very impressive though.

My list would be

1. Hong Kong (the king, no question)
2. New York (incredible density, but could use more colour)
3. Shanghai (absolute insanity, lots of colour)
4. Chicago (classic, yet very modern)
5. Toronto (CN Tower is the best exclamation point of any skyline IMO)
6. Dubai (Those lights on the cranes help out big time, makes it very unique)
7. Sydney (the opera house and Harbour bridge are great against a very modern skyline)
8. Seattle (great density and colour, awesome with the needle)
9. Auckland (Similar to Toronto, but smaller. Incredible for a city with a population of about 1.5 million)
10. Vancouver (Very dense and long, starting to get some fairly dramatic lighting, will be better once Shangri-la is lit up)

Honourable mention goes to (in no particular order):

Calgary (amazing density for a metro of 1.2 million)
Melbourne (very pleasing aesthetic)
Atlanta (nice, but too many gaps)
Miami (gets bigger and bigger, but too spread out)
Montreal (nice, but needs more new buildings)
Paris (good, and will get better)
Rotterdam (Great for a smaller European city)
Las Vegas (Vegas baby)

too many more to list.

How about Osaka?
I cannot say the top 10 in the world, but maybe Japanese top 10!

Wicked shot of Anchorage.

Anyone remember that horrid song that went something like: "Anchored down in anchorage.... Leroy says: hello"

Hong Kong and in my opinion, soon it will be Shanghai. Many cities have very impressive skylines but with these two Chinese cities there's so much more colour than is usually seen at night.

Did this little series of Shanghai's main Lujiazui skyline (arguably the most colourful of all of Shanghai's skylines) transforming from afternoon to night view. Thought it might go well in this thread;
