And our first look at the typical Tridel cladding.

Yup, gross beyond compare.

Worst, it will block the view of ICE from the lake.

I wish Tridel had stayed in the 905.

What do you mean by, " had stayed in the 905?" You keep saying this while completely ignoring their absolutely massive 416 portfolio including many downtown projects.

The cladding is not too promising with the large spandrel panel covering the bottom third. I do like the pointed element.

Technically didn't Tridel start with developments in the City of Toronto, then only later expanded to the further suburbs? Most of the highrise apartment developments would be solidly in the city. Of course this was well before the 905 area code existed, or 10 digit dialing for that matter.

I want to see more cladding before I pass judgment, but it doesn't look wonderful yet.

Not sure as their long history dates from before condos even existed. Ironically, I believe their first condo was in Oakville. They have around 120 completed highrise condos in Toronto though. Most are outside the former city however, the majority of condos built before 2000 were built in the boroughs/ cities making up the 416.

They used to be pretty big in Edmonton a long time ago. I wonder if they developed the first condo corp. in Canada there.

In the end, it isn't fair to position suburbia as inferior to everything. These forums are hardly representative of suburbia and yet quality is often determined on what's different. I don't know how many times I'm seen some mediocre build passed on as the best in years while some well executed projects thoroughly bashed for not breaking the mold. Things are going to get a little repetitive when you have a 500 residential towers build in a short ten year span.

That side looks decent. Tridel has done more work in the 905 then in the 416. They've been building suburban condo's for decades now.

Maybe what looks to be a very extruded feature on the other side will make up for the generic window wall.

Yeah, it doesn't look too bad from that side.

.

Well I'm thinking of this which I believe was Tridels first condo built in Markham. Thus this is why I said " had stayed in the 905". If you know of an earlier Tridel Condo then this one built in the 416 I'd love to see it.
