Looks like it has to do with the sheer wall (I think that's what it's called?)
^ shear.

Sheer walls wouldn't be very effective in the shear aspect...

An interesting feature on the 300 Main website. One can check out the potential views, day or night, from a number of levels (yes, including the 40th floor!):

The view of the Forks is a little unsightly right now. Two huge parking lots staring back at you.

Concourse sealed off at the Graham Ave entrance today. Construction on the west exit corridor begins Monday. No estimate on how long that is expected to take but who really cares at this point since downtown is a desert now.

Almost as tall as The Canadian Grain Commission Building now.

There will be several "penthouse" suites on the top few floors, and tenant amenities on the top floor. Similar to 225 Carlton.

Looks like they jacked the core again. I believe they are working on 19 and 20 in the core box (13-17 visible on the core, 18 right at the base of the core box, 19 and 20 being poured)

Their website also mentions a 40th floor "sky lounge". I would imagine it would be very difficult to rent to people on the lower floors if there was no access to the great views from the top of the building.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but there’s glass going up on the west side. Same glass as the Trizek building so it looks like we will have duelling Darth Vadar towers.

Sooooooooo goooood

I wonder if the “sky lounge” will be open to the public. If no, that’s understandable. If yes, wow, the Prairie 360 is going to have a hard time absorbing that, especially if it will have a restaurant...

Prairie 360 is rotating though.

Sky lounge is a private amenity for residential use only.

Prairie 360 is also known for skipping on their employees paycheques... honestly amazed they are even able to remain in business. I've had friends who used to work there, that never got paid. For weeks on end.

It would just be better to turn it into a more affordable tourist trap, so Winnipeg can fill up the hotels a bit better. Of course, when Pallister is done roleplaying as a fascist... maybe there will be some more tourist investments?

It is interesting (nice) though that there doesn’t seem like there’s going to be much or any of that black panelling on 300 though. It does make 300 seem a bit disjointed from 330/360, but the black stuff already looks dirty and old. 300 glass looks nice.

1 - they've had new owners for 4'ish years, was that before then? and there's something called the "labour board" to bring those complaints too, i do think coming to a forum like this and spreading crap like this is unnecessary

2 - "Pallister = fascist roleplaying" what kind of forum is this?

That makes sense. Tough to rent an apartment building whe arguably it's best feature is open to everyone.

I like the look of the 300/360 buildings, especially in the context of the beige that surrounds them.

I can't get over how it is in the perfect position. It sits perfectly in the skyline composition from every angle. Really elongates the Portage and Main peak.
