Yeah, those turtles are pretty abundant depending where you are. I hardly see them at home but when I go up north fishing they are all over the place sunbathing. Back in the day we would pick them up with the fishing net and play with them for a few seconds and put them back. Though I haven't seen that many in one place before like in the pic above.

Some pics from the past week. The chickadees were going back and forth to the birdhouse for a few days. I even fed them with sunflower seeds. But then I jacked up the rent 100% and haven't seen them since. I took advantage of Doug Ford's eliminated rent control for post 2018 constructions. Shhh... the birdhouse was built before then but no one else knows that.

Stumbled upon this abandoned house/workshop next to Milton Sports Centre. Most windows boarded up but looks like they have more work to do.

And a skunk dug out a hole under my shed. The third time since I've been there. I even dug down in the past and tried to put an extra piece of siding as a barrier but didn't stop them. They keep digging in the same place. This time I filled in with pea gravel then dirt and then laid a concoction of six different spices and also threw in steel wool and moth balls. Before all that I got a giant branch and stuck it down the hole wondering if something would come crawling out. Very hesitant to do so but nothing came out.

I remember the pictures of this little guy you often shared. R.I.P. If I were you I’d just go ahead and plant a new one.

Anyway, the 4 days of gloominess ended over here and the sun is back. The rain seemed to have had a noticeable effect on the vegetation. A lot of things are now in the process of leafing out.

R.I.P. my little trachycarpus fortunei which didn't survive this past winter. Had I been in Halifax I would have covered the palm given what I was seeing on the weather sites. Unlike most of the ROC this El Nino winter was not kind to Halifax as it was in other cities. I think this is typical with El Nino.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wikipedia suggests that young t. fortunei can be damaged if left unprotected in temperatures as cool as -8C. That's not really that uncommon for overnight lows during winter around these parts.

About 16C and sunny in Toronto. I can see some buds & leaves on trees beginning and daffodils, tulips etc blooming in the residential streets around High Park, West Bend and Indian Road. Hopefully tomorrow I'll go for a little walk, as I'm getting so bored inside. Apparently the cherry blossoms and trilliums are going to bloom this weekend.

Back from a week in the tropics.

15C and sunny today. Decent day. Everything is greening up. Grass especially has made a massive progress in 1 week. It's almost at peak green now.

Low of 7C this morning.

The warmspot was Swift Current, SK at 23.9C.

Warmest low was Osoyoos, BC at 13.8C. It won't hold as the temperature has already dipped to the level and it's only 8PM.

We had a bit of sun poking through around lunch time but by mid-afternoon it became overcast.
It stayed dry until the later evening.

Monday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 11 C, the low was 8 C.

I believe this is accurate. I decided to throw caution to the wind when I moved from the property this past summer and decided not to dig it up and take it with me as I have 3 potted trachys. This decision was partly based on the previous winter being mostly quite mild too. Still, it is disappointing.

It was a beautiful day here yesterday with the high topping out at about 16c. Today is forecast to be similar.

8C and sunny in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to 14C this afternoon with spotty showers. We are getting into peak spring. The leaves should start popping in the next 10 days or so,

Sunny and 14C and the buds on many trees are almost ready to expand to leaves, the tulips, daffodils and forsythia in bloom. I feel like a 75 year old walking slowly around stooped over. Now I wish I had a house and backyard so I could start a vegetable garden.

Cherry trees are now blooming, as well as flowering pear and tulips. Tree canopy is really starting to green up also, looking like real spring.
Cherry trees are blooming here now as well in the GTA. Earliest I can remember in recent memory.

Looks like Calgary got hit hard by snow again this morning. As I drove about 1.5 south from YEG today every truck had a pile of snow o it. Alberta 511 cameras so a good amount in the Calgary region.

YEG is cooling and we may get some snow tonight as well but just flurries. But bring it on. more moisture.

Had a bit of a wake up yesterday. Got a text that a Cougar ( the Furry kind) was spotted in the ravine behind my house i the morning. Id expect Moose, as this is the time of year young are born and the yearlings are booted out. Cougars have been seen a few time before in the region. But not much in the urban area.

Such flexibility and exposure. My guess is these strengths are only achieved through the powers of the 'fent'.
