When your the best, there will always be those with negative opinions (I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to have) twords ya. If being "chopped" is the best they can come up with, I'll take that all day long!

^^ Except for spelling, grammar and the wrong version of "you're." (I'm playing this tiny violin for English teachers everywhere.) But the sentiment is expressed nicely.

So here's my gripe about the garage. I realize that it's a garage and they're not going to put as much money into its construction materials as the tower. I think that's short-term thinking on their part because they probably want the public to have a good opinion of the choices they make as a business. For example, small business owners seeking a loan know the value of offering their customers quality and not just cheaper prices.

With that in mind, all they had to do was slap some glass over the exposed concrete portions of the exterior of the garage (the columns and outer beam facings). Then it would match the look of the building and the cost would be relatively minor, but the upgrade in aesthetics would be major.

I completely agree with you Jack. The only other minor annoyance I have is how great San Pedro Creek's 1.1 phase is to have the first development on it be that garage. I'm hoping the retail spaces make it look more complete and draw the eye to sidewalk level.

There are two retail fronts on that narrow end of the garage, so I think it will work well in that respect. I also suspect Frost had something to do with getting that portion done first. It's a major new building in the city and when you factor in the Alameda Theatre and businesses on Commerce St., it makes perfect sense to start there.

On a related note, I love the mid-century modern look of the Penner's building.

Wow. That's a beautiful photo. Also glad to see the Tower Life Building paying respect to Richard Overton.

No, I'm pretty much 100 percent sure that's the Willowbrook Drive view in Northwest San Antonio. I can tell by the angle, and also because of those powerlines on the lefthand side. I actually took some photos from there back in July with the Frost Bank Headquarters. I really should post them, I guess, but I was sort of reluctant because they didn't turn out too well because of the African dust that was blowing through Texas that week.

White Cloud Drones - these guys have some really nice drone aerials of San Antonio, including one from tonight of the New Years fireworks showing downtown with the Frost Bank Headquarters lit up.

I really like the Frost tower on the SA night skyline.

Looks beautiful.

More San Antonio fireworks goodness. This video was taken from a condo atop the Grand Hyatt. This is nuts.
