That's about a 2.2% population growth per year for 50 years to reach 600,000 people. Their average growth rate the last five years was 1.8%, so if they sustain that then it's closer to 500,000 people. Still mind boggling numbers either way.

Does anyone know what’s going on at 1551 water street where that living faith miracle Center was? There is a fence up and it looks like they are demolishing it or renovating. I’m guessing demoing it. Would be cool to see another proposal for the site.

I took some pictures in Kelowna the other day, but I'm not entirely sure how to post them on here.
Landmark 7 site is fenced off and I've seen demolition f existing vacant buildings happening. Also, the Hyatt hotel behind spall plaza is really taking shape.

Forgot they were building a Hyatt there. Bit of an awful corner in my opinion, not a whole lot in terms of pedestrian friendly amenities there. I don't see Spall Plaza densifying anytime soon.

Maybe Kelowna should try to promote their multi use trails and bicycle rentals as a way for tourists to get around. It is an easy and lovely 15 minute bike ride downtown.

Afraid I can't help you, but find out somehow . . . we need way more in the way of a record of change for everywhere outside metro Vancouver. Especially Kelowna.

You need to upload your pics to a third party platform, such as Flickr or Photobucket, then from there you post the links on here using the image posting function (or by typing

Agreed, the Hyatt site does seem a bit odd, but it adds a more central and denser look driving down Harvey.
Also thanks for clearing that up for me! I created a Flickr account. The picture I took of Ella will be an interesting perspective to observe progress on that site. Crazy how it's already dwarfing everything around it on Lawrence Avenue. I will periodically go through Kelowna in the coming months and will post as much as I can.

Update: I tried, but it wont show the images on the post, just the links hahah

Nice pic! but remove the ellipses and the image should show on your post itself

(I just out those there in place of the picture address for an example)

Thanks for the updates!

Exciting times for Kelowna.

Still got my fingers crossed for the hotel tower.

Must be almost as many cranes up in Kelowna as there are in Edmonton. That's incredible.

Wow, demand and unit sales must still be very strong despite a slower market. Even One Water Street tower #2 is one year ahead of schedule. That whole Bernard Block community will rise very quickly on par with everything else. I cant wait to see Kelowna two years from now. But city hall has to reconfigure its infrastructure and transit plans.

Ellis Parc - looks like they just increased the crane height this weekend.

One of the two lots comprising the old OK Builders supply site now has a sold sign outside. It is the parcel at the corner of Ellis and Gatson Ave.

The old bank building on Bernard which is supposedly the site of the Westcorp Tower sales centre definitely has some construction going on inside.

Great pics! Interesting to see the progress on some of those projects from when I was there, just a few weeks ago.
